Or perhaps just, "See you later."
I’m sad to announce Buc~A~Buc Farm will be closing this year. After more than 26 years at Buc~A~Buc, and a whole many more on a “real” farm before, my old body is finally saying, “Whoa.” More like screaming it.
I hope to keep my website up and running. Who knows, we may be back some day. Check in now and then. You never know! In the meantime, we will be selling throughout the rest of the 2025 season.
I just want to say thank you to all my wonderful customers. I am so grateful to have known you. Some of you have been with me for so, so many years. I’ve made friends alllll across the country. Wonderful, wonderful friends and acquaintances through this little five-acre farm.
So many stories to tell. So many wonderful people I am still in contact with and hope to remain so. I’m pleased to think there are Buc~A~Buc chickens all around this country. I wish I had kept track of all the states I’ve shipped eggs to – I’m fairly certain that would be all that are within the continental US. I wish I had kept track of all the different COUNTRIES. That was pretty cool, but of course I could not ship to them.
Also the offer of a news feature that was not in the US -turned down. An offer of a commercial (England) also turned down as I would lose rights to my video. But still so thrilling to be offered.
And then the time a box of my eggs WAS on the news – mistakenly thought to be a bomb scare! Oh what a story THAT was!
The Natural History Museum out in CA who did a display and hatched my eggs. Photographers who just wanted colorful eggs and feathers to take pictures of. A Hobby Farms Magazine photographer showing up unannounced to do a photo shoot – and being turned away because of bio-security. Thankfully they came back (with better precautions) and oh what fun! All sorts of umbrellas and lights and equipment! My chickens are in their magazine and multiple calendars.
And the time a fellow showed up in a black SUV with a gigantic BODY GUARD. The fellow was extremely nice. The body guard just glared and grunted. LOL! I still don’t know who he actually was. But it sure was an interesting sale! I just have SO MANY stories from over the years, and every single one is dear to my heart.
BUT MOST SPECIAL OF ALL – the classrooms and homeschoolers and every kind of people from all walks of life around the country. How much fun we have had walking through your hatches together!
And not just hatches! Over the years we’ve also offered quality Labrador Retrievers (and dog obedience classes in my front yard), Turkeys, Guineas, Ducks, Rabbits, and of course – Chickens! Oh how much fun and how many awesome friends I have come to know over the years.
So much fun. So thankful for all of you. <3 It has been such a privilege.
May God Bless you all!
