SILKIES

  Our Bearded Buff Silkies are pretty much the cutest and fluffiest of all the chickens we have. They are the beloved pets of my special needs daughter who takes wonderful care of them. Silkies have hair like feathers, have black skin, beaks, and legs, and sport five toes on each foot. They are average layers of medium cream colored eggs. They make wonderful broody hens and mothers and will attempt to hatch pretty much anything. We’ve had silkies successfully hatch and brood our TURKEYS. 

All of our silkies are considered PET QUALITY at this point, though we are improving with each breeding.  As we bring in new and better stock, breeding only the best, we are working toward the BUFF standard.  Currently there is an amount of 'muddy' in their buff color. We are working on it and each generation improves as we go.
